Jace Warns Against the Claim of Vermithor and Silverwing Dragons by Targaryen Bastards

In the book Dance of the Dragons, Prince Jacaerys Velaryon, nicknamed Jace, was the one implemented the call by his mother – Queen Rhaenyra to encourage Targaryen bastards to come to Dragonstone and claim unmounted dragons. However, in the House of the Dragon show, he’s the one who goes against such idea by Rhaenyra, since he sense the greedy and possible disloyalty from these bastards.

RELATED

Inspired by Addam successfully claiming Seasmoke, Rhaenyra and Corlys have Elinda gather Targaryen bastards to Dragonstone to claim Vermithor. Dragonseeds are everywhere, and around a hundred bastards come to Dragonstone, mostly in silver hair.

Vermithor burns many bastards at its lair, but Hugh Hammer (Kieran Bew) – a starving blacksmith successfully claims it. While running away from Vermithor’s attack, Ulf White (Tom Bennett) stumbles upon a sleeping Silverwing, and luckily it picks him as its new rider.

Queen Rhaenyra is right at first, since Hugh and Ulf help adding more dragons into the Blacks, leading to their later victory at the Battle of the Gullet and then the Fall of King's Landing.

Jace (Harry Collett), however, is more right later when these two new dragon riders would betray Rhaenyra, with Hugh would even demand to become King. To punish them, it would be very costly for the Blacks, not only thousands people but also Vermithor, Silverwing and some other dragons would die.

If the show’s editors go even wilder, there’s another likely possibility that Race would be later killed by either Hugh or Ulf “accidentally” at the Battle of the Gullet.
