Time Variant Authority (TVA), first introduced in Loki series, is a major factor for the storyline of Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine movie. TVA’s Mr. Paradox capturing Deadpool makes the masked mercenary know of his universe’ impeding deterioration, prompting him to find a variant of Wolverine to save his universe.

The reason for Deadpool & Wolverine’s team-up comes from nowhere
Earth-10005 is said to be home to both Deadpool and James "Logan" Howlett, who died in Logan movie 2017. According to Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen), Login is the stabilizing "anchor being" (or the pillar) of Earth-10005, so after he died, the timeline of this universe is deteriorating.

Deadpool Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) steals Paradox's TemPad to travel the multiverse to find a variant of Logan to bring him to his universe as a pillar in replace to save his timeline. Deadpool’s thought is this simple: if we lose something, just find an exact copy to take its place.
Deadpool finally picks the worst, alcohol-addicted Logan variant (Hugh Jackman), since other Logans tend to kill him at first sight, without hesitation.

The small-mouth but verbose Deadpool, after much persuasion, begging, threatening and fighting with Logan, take both back to TVA to present to Mr. Paradox his solution to save Earth-10005. Paradox simply prunes the couples into the Void where they meet versions of X-men new and old, and the unexpected villain of the movie - Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), the twin sister of X-Men leader Charles Xavier.

The easy and lazy way to introduce X-men team under Marvel’s brand is to put them all the Void. Then there is no need to tell any background story on how it happened and where they came from. They are simply there, and fight!
Here they are!!! Inhabitants of the Void who form the resistance against Nova and are nicknamed the "Others", mostly X-men, include: Laura / X-23 (Dafne Keen) from Logan (2017); Elektra Natchios (Jennifer Garner) as from Daredevil (2003) and Elektra (2005); Eric Brooks (Wesley Snipes) from the Blade film trilogy (1998–2004); Remy LeBeau / Gambit (Channing Tatum); Johnny Storm / Human Torch (Chris Evans) as from Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007).
Surprisingly, when Chris Evans shows up, some audiences get confused at first and suppose he is a lost Captain America, instead of a Human Torch. More surprisingly, he is soon turned into a mixture of messy flesh and bones by Nova.
At the end of the movie, B-15 who is in charge of TVA seems to agree to return the Others to their respective timelines, so there’s high possibility that we would meet some or all of them again in Marvel’s later movies..
The unpredictable Nova Cassandra becomes the main villain predictably
Being a mutant in the Void with telekinetic and telepathic powers, Nova is the twin sister of Charles Xavier with other-worldly origins. It’s obvious that Nova’s power is immense, she can easily control, manipulate, defeat and kill other mutants with a single act.
She is mischief, dangerous, and unpredictable. She would endear and charm you to the point that "you are going to be best friends for life" only to realize she could easily kill you.

Pruned into the Void since she was a child, Nova grows up here and feels quite happy to live as a Queen here, since her power can make others her slaves. And suddenly, one day, she wants to eliminate all universes so that the Void becomes the one and only, and she would be the sole God there. I wonder when all universes are destroyed, there would be no more people pruned into the Void, so its inhabitants would decrease to none someday. She would be the God of an unhabituated Void?
Quite unpredictable! Because she is unpredictable, the editor would no need much explanation on the mental developments and motivations behind her action.
Nova comes to TVA to take control of the Time Ripper to destroy all timelines, leaving only the Void, as revenge for Paradox's betrayal. TVA is famous for its being immune to superpower and magic, but Nova can proceed there easily without any resistance from TVA hunters. It’s quite an organization. And also, you may see, betrayal of a man can make a woman destroy the whole galaxy. Nova must have loved Paradox deeply!
Sometimes, it’s necessary to disregard some logics to spend more time on our beloved couples in red and yellow.
