Aboard the Naboo N-1 fighter, Mando and Baby Yoda Grogu arrive at the Armorer's base just as a giant crocodile-shaped, turtle-shell monster is attacking at a young Mandalorian membership ritual. He helps them kill the monster.
The Armorer believes that Mando cannot be redeemed because the planet Mandalore was destroyed in the Purge, and its surface has been crystallized by fusion rays. Mando shows an artifact from the planet Mandalore and says an traveler has found it, which proves that at least the planet's surface is not completely poisoned. The Armor agreed to Mando's plan of redemption.
For more help, Mando returns to the planet Nevarro to find a way to revive the killer robot IG-11 - who sacrificed himself to save Mando and his teammates in a critical fight in Season 1.
In Nevarro, Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) — former leader of the Bounty Hunters now is the High Magistrate who helped transform the formerly lawless community into a thriving commercial hub. He eagerly suggests to give Mando a spacious mansion to live comfortably here, but he refuses.
The lifeless metal shell of the IG-11 was made into a statue by Greef Karga as a gesture of honor. Mando manages to activate IG-11's original program, but the lamed droid begins indiscriminate bombardment. So Mando takes its parts to the tiny IT engineers Anzellans for repair and they said the IG-11 needs a memory circuit that is not available on the Nevarro because it was out of production. So Mando has to find
Mando leaves Nevarro to go to Kalevala - another planet in the Mandalorian system. On this journey, he must escape from the hunt of a group of pirates led by Pirate King Gorian Shard.
At Kalevala, Mando meets with Princess Bo-Katan to seek the help of her fleet, however Bo-Katan states that after she was unable to obtain the Darksaber, her forces declined and fell and her allies have left her. While distrusting Mando's plan of redemption, Bo-Katan offers him the way to the mines which are beneath the civic center of Sundari City.
