The Trivantian Army's Chief Science Officer, Tormada, seeks to develop a new weapon of great destructive power, the mine, with the assistance of Oloman, the visionary eldest son of late Jerlamarel.

Tormada uses explosives in the fight against the Ganites in the West and easily kill an entire platoon of enemies. Wren the female General who survived the GreenHill Gap battle is shocked to witness the bloody carnage on the battlefield.

Tormada also tracks Baba Voss to the village of the Hidden Tribe to kill him with a mine trap, however, Lion Bow rushes out first and is dismembered after the explosion.
