The Star Wars Universe's Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi will return in a series of the same name that will air on Disney+ since May 25, 2022. The series is set 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) when the Empire is rising across the galaxy and continuing its hunt for the surviving Jedi.

At this point, Obi-Wan Kenobi wants to hide Anakin/Dark Vader's son Luke Skywalker from the Sith, so he sent the boy to his stepbrother's family to raise. To ensure the boy's safety, Obi-Wan only overwatchs Luke's growth, while constantly running away from the Empire's hunt.
The series will introduce a new "generation" of villains, the Inquisitors of the Empire - who are tasked with tracking down the surviving Jedi who are hiding across the galaxy after the Order 66.
A new planet that will be introduced to the series is Daiyu, which Showrunner Harold compares to Hong Kong with its "flashing nightlife"; it contrasts with the desert planet Tatooine which is the main setting of the series.
The Dark Vader character is also returning, and from the series poster, fans are anticipating a second earth-shattering duel between Dark Vader and Kenobi.
Thus, 17 years have passed since Ewan McGregor (Kenobi) and Hayden Christensen (Dark Vader) last played these characters. The two spend a lot of time watching the entire Star Wars Saga, including recent animated series, to be able to better understand and immerse themselves in the characters.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi series can be seen as a prequel to much-anticipated The Mandalorian series, in which Luke Skywalker has entered his adulthood. The timing of the two contexts can be 10-15 years apart. Preliminary information shows that these two series are in the same universe but not closely related.
