Sith Lord Palpatine as Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic
Set three years after the events of the Clone Wars, the Jedi knights spread across the galaxy, leading a large-scale war against the Separatists.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker lead a mission to rescue Palpatine kidnapped by Separatist General Grievous.
After being rescued, Palpatine appoints Anakin to the Jedi Council as his personal representative. The Jedi Council is somewhat suspicious of Palpatine, so they approve Anakin's appointment but refuse to give Anakin the rank of Jedi Master and instead direct him to spy on Palpatine. This has reduced Anakin's faith in the Jedi.
Palpatine silently draws Anakin to his side and slowly descends him into the dark side of the Force.
Jedi Anakin Skywalker Becomes Dark Vader
Anakin is happy to hear that his wife, Padmé Amidala, is pregnant, but quickly falls into despair and obsession when he repeatedly saw the vision of Padmé dying in childbirth.
Knowing Anakin's concerns, Palpatine promises to teach Anakin the dark side of the Force so that he has the enough power to prevent Padmé's death.
This coupling with not being named a Jedi Master causes Anakin to choose to side with Palpatine even after learning Palpatine's true identity as the Sith Lord.
Anakin cuts off Jedi Windu's arm before the knight could kill Palpatine, resulting in Windu's death. Palpatine names Anakin as Darth Vader.
Order 66 and the Fall of the Jedi Order
Revealing himself as the Sith Lord, Palpatine issues Order 66, ordering clone armies to kill their commanding Jedi generals across the galaxy, while Vader and a battalion of clones come to kill the remaining ones in the Jedi Temple.
Vader then travels to Mustafar to assassinate the separatist leaders, while Palpatine declares himself Emperor before the Galactic Senate, transforms the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire, and accuses the Jedi of being traitors.
These developments cause most of the Jedi in the galaxy to have been killed, the survivors had to live in exile and seclusion since then, the Jedi system no longer existed.
Luke Skywalker and Leia Skywalker
Surviving the chaos, Obi-Wan tries to find Anakin (now Dark Vader) to convince him to return to the bright side of the Force. Failed, Obi-Wan then engages Vader in a lightsaber duel that ends with Obi-Wan severing Vader's left arm and leg, leaving him at the edge of a burning lava stream.
Padmé gives birth to twins, whom she named Luke and Leia, and dies soon after. Obi-Wan and Yoda plan to hide the twins from the Sith and live in exile in waiting for the right time to challenge the Empire.
Palpatine manages to save Vader with his body nearly ruined in lava. He was treated, many of his body parts are mechanically replaced, and covered in a black armor.
