Finally, the mysterious underground creature climbs onto and puts its feet on the ground. This is a dark/evil version of Superman from another Earth, but it is not clear that there is the same world of John and Nat.

It's obvious us that Clark can't defeat his black version and John shows up with armor to assist, but only manages to break through a patch of his opponent's armor.

Jordan wants to tell Sarah the secret of his superpower, but Clark tries to prevent him from doing so because it could endanger the family. Jonathan gets into a fight with Timmy Ryan when it was revealed that his beloved Candice was selling the crystal to Timmy.

Lana continues her mayoral campaign even after some Smallville residents are openly skeptical because she previously worked for Morgan Edge (Tal-Rho).

Lois falls into career troubles caused by her older sister Lucy. She has to ask Sam to mediate the sisters conflict, but it seems things are still complicated.

At the end of the episode, in an ice cave, the dark Superman removes his armor and is revealed to be a pale, scarred version, in a ragged black robe.
