Mando Vs Klatooinian Butchers
In a new job, Mando hunts a bounty robber, a Klatooinian gangster named Kaba Baiz, behind a meat packing factory. In this battle, despite having a mighty weapon being the Darksaber, Mando is accidentally wounded by the blade itself, partly because he still can not wield it perfectly.
The wound inflicted by Darksaber is only superficial, but its damage seems quite serious. From a sexy walker, Mando turns into a limping walker.
Mando goes to a space station called "Ring World" and gives Kaba Baiz's head to a group of Huttese-speaking customers, for bounty credits and information on the closest access shaft to the substrata.
Deserved Master of the Darksaber
From a nondescript door, Mando travels to the new secret Covert of the Mandalorian tribe led by The Armorer. Here, another Mandalorian, Paz Vizsla (voiced by Jon Favreau) helps Mando heal his wound.
Mando asks The Armorer to melt the beskar spear and mold it into what looked like the rings he planned to give to Baby Yoda Grogu. It is not yet clear what use these items will have.
The Armorer asks Mando about the origin of the Darksaber he obtained. She states that only the worthy can wield the Darksaber, helping the Mandalorian Kingdom regain its glory; and the unworthy will bring it to ruin. As The Armorer explains, Darksaber was once gifted to Bo Katan to be the leader, and her rule ended "in tragedy".
The Armorer then instructs Mando to use the Darksaber, but he still faces difficulty using it. Observing the training, Paz Vizsla suddenly voices that this Darksaber should probably belong to someone more worthy - himself - a descendant of the clan that forged this blade.
The duel takes place between Vizsla and Mando under the witness of The Armorer. Vizsla is stronger than Mando and soon obtains the blade; and deal fatal blows to kill Mando. However, Vizsla is even more clumsy than Mando in using it.
The Armorer orders a halt when Mando manages to put a knife to Vizsla's throat. She asks Mando if he had ever removed his helmet off, as it is taboo under Mandalorian Creed. When Mando admits he once took off his helmet (showing Grogu his face), The Armorer declares, "you are a Mandalorian no more", and to atone for Mando must redeem (maybe a bath?) in the waters under the mines of Mandalore. But it was destroyed long ago.
Starfighter N-1 fighter turned into a spaceship
Receiving a message from Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris) - the owner of the mechanical workshop that she has a replacement for the Razor Crest that was blown up by the Moff Gideon army in The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 06, Mando goes on a flight of the Starliner to the planet Tatooine.
Mando arrives at Peli Motto's mechanical workshop on Tatooine, but soon discovers the spaceship is not what he expected. It is a converted Starfighter N-1 (aka Naboo Starfighter) fighter. Mando is about to give up, but Peli manages to convince Mando of its potentials, and the two embarks on further upgrading the fighter, including purchasing some more pirated equipment from the Jawas dwarves.
In the end, Mando enjoys the perfect aircraft in terms of speed, acceleration, obstacle clearance, and combat features, clearly surpassing the creaking Razor Crest.
At the end of the episode, Shand suddenly appears at the mechanical workshop, invites Mando to help Boba Fett, with credits given in advance. Mando accepts to join but returns the credits to Shand. He says he needs to visit a little friend (probably Grogu) before joining Boba's "muscle".
This episode can be seen as a preview of The Mandalorian Season 3. It has been well received by fans with its own Imdb score of 9.5/10 (the current average score for The Book of Boba Fett series is currently 7.7/10).
