Geralt discovers the secret of Ciri
Convinced that Ciri has the qualities of a mage instead of a witcher, Geralt invites his friend Triss Merigold (Anna Shaffer) to Kaer Morhen to train Ciri.
Triss helps Geralt study samples of the two monsters that purposely hunted Ciri and determine their origin: not created by mages, but coming from the monoliths.
Ciri confesses that on the way to escape from the Black Knight, she panicked and screamed, and her scream broke a monolith. Geralt decides to go to this place to find out the nature of the matter.
Vesemir also discovers the Feainnewedd flower that grows in places where Ciri trains and bleeds. Feainnewedd only grows when the blood of the Elder is spilled and it is the main ingredient for making mutagen - the mutagenic substance to train witchers.
This also implicitly confirms that Ciri is also of Elder blood.
The Purge of the Elves in the North and Redania's scheme
After the Mage Francesca decided to ally with Nilfgaard and brought her people to Cintra, the elves living in the Northern kingdoms are now purged, and they are captured and sent to unknown camps, but their fate is unknown.
The Northern kingdoms also begin to form an alliance to combat the threat from Nilfgaard – Elves, but internally it is full of suspicion and cheating. In that scenario, the king of Redania, Vizimir II, has a big dream to conquer Cintra – something he could not have hoped for when it was still in the hands of the mighty Queen Calanthe.
To do this, Redania's intelligence commander, Sigismund Dijkstra (Graham McTavish), plans to send a spy to Cintra to obtain intelligence. He chooses a an elf boy from among the prisoners, as Dara (Wilson Mbomio) - whom Ciri befriended in Season 1.
Yennefer and Cahir's Escape
After wanted notices are spread across the North, Yennefer and Cahir have no choice but to go down to Cintra. They fall down an old water sewer and encounter some elves hiding there, but then are confronted by a giant octopus monster.
By chance, Yennefer overhears Jaskier (Joey Batey) singing at a pub above, and tries to meet him. Jaskier still seems to be in a lot of pain after his argument and breakup with Geralt. Jaskier's hit song now has lyrics about that breakup – "the song for you now written for everyone".
Jaskier tries to help Yennefer and Cahir board a ship back to Cintra, but he is suddenly taken away by someone.
