The Tomorrow War 2021 creatively and interestingly combines the story of time travel and the battle against the destruction of Earth by alien creatures, based on the background of a touching family story. The alien beasts do not involve technology, intelligence or extraterrestrial civilization but are simply predatory creatures, so the film should be classified as a monster theme.

Set in the year 2022, at the final match of World Cup taking place in Qatar between Brazil and [...] (Wow, that's interesting!!! Football is now also prophetic by cinematography), time travelers from the future 2051 lands in the stadium right before a goals is being scored, delivering an urgent message: 30 years from now, humanity will lose the war against an alien invasion; the entire human race will disappear from the face of the Earth. Worried about the fate of their descendants, the UN and governments around the world send troops into the future to support, only a few lucky ones return but the battle in the future is and would be still hopeless. When the number of soldiers is increasingly short, civilians regardless of age, young, male, female, occupation are drafted to join the army in turn. The story follows Dan Forester (Chris Pratt), a biology teacher at highschool, who served in the war in Iraq, who is called to join the R-Force team to come to the future to help with a research project on an toxic weapon against the alien beasts.

Landing on the future, though being a research team, they are soon caught up in a head-to-head battle with creatures known as Whitespikes, when the final lab facility was attacked. Dan is tasked with obtaining 12 tubes of biological material and bringing it back to the Research Team Leader - who later turns out to be Dan's daughter in the future - Muri Forester.

Dan then joins Muri and the army to capture a female of the Whitespike species - said to be immune to human weapons, while males are more susceptible to elimination. From this specimen, Muri prepares the substance to destroy the female Whitespike. She asks Dan to go back in time to 2022 to mass produce these chemical weapons and bring them into the future to serve in the war. Back in the present 2022, it is discovered that Dan could not carry those compounds into the future physically. He must find a way to trace the Whitespikes' orgin and wage a war of the present to prevent future apocalypse, with the help of his suicide friends and his tough father James Forester (J. K. Simmons).
