In the Episode "The Siege" (Chapter 12) of The Mandalorian, the Razor Crest is damaged again, so Mando decides to return to Planet Nevarro instead of continuing his journey to search for Jedi Ahsoka Tano. Here, he reunites with two old friends being Greef Carga and Cara Dune and together launch an attack to destroy a thought-to-be military base of the Empire.

In Nevarro now, Greef Carga mainly handles clerical work to run the settlement which now even has a school, while Cara Dune (in gaining weight a lot) is now referred to as Marshal - specialized in solving security issues on the planet. They are concerned that the only remaining black (actually red) spot on the planet is an old Imperial base - believed to be home to a variety of heavy weapons and Moff Gideon's Stormtroopers.
After the infiltration into facility, three of them just discover that it is actually a biological lab that is likely aimed to create a new species of the Stormtroopers. They also come to know that Moff Gideon is still alive and that Baby Yoda's blood is what he still needs to continue the experiment.
Mando must rush back to town to protect Baby Yoda; and later he also returns in time on the repaired Razor Crest to rescue Greef Carga and Cara Dune from Moff Gideon's air fighters. Unbeknownst to him, the ship while being repaired was planted with a beacon by a spy sent by Moff Gideon.
In the Episode, Baby Yoda begins to develop the ability to understand human language when Mando shows him how to work as a reluctant and failed "electrician". The Child also starts to say his first word "Yeah".
