In the episode "Before the Fall", 12 years after the Law of Surprise boutique, Geralt on witnessing the Nilfgaard's army heading to the Kingdom of Cintra feels anxious for the fate of Princess Pavetta's child who is bound to him by destiny. He decideds to come back to Cintra to find the child.
LAW OF SURPRISE: GERALT VS CALENTHE
The child whom Geralt thought to be a boy turns out to be Princess Ciri - now being raised by Queen Calenthe after her parents were lost in a shipwreck in the sea. Calenthe considers Ciri to be the heir to her throne and does not want to hand her over to Geralt as per the past Law of Surprise so she sends several assassins to hunt down Geralt. Failed, she plots to impersonate Ciri by another girl, but the plot was uncovered by Geralt. Finally, she and her husband set up a plan for Geralt to be trapped and imprisoned.
THE SORCERERS VS THE NILFGAARDS
In the current flow, Yen, after the arguments and break-up with Geralt in Episode 6, goes to her early boyfriend at Aretuza castle to restore her past love. However, this guy now just focuses on research and seems to ignore any love affairs. There, Yen is approached and persuaded by the Vilgefortz of Roggeveen to return to Aretuza to attend the Sorcerers' Brotherhood meeting convened to discuss how to respond to the Nilfgaard's expansion.
Sorcerer Tissaia - Yen's master tries to convince the Brotherhood to help Cintra fight against Nilfgaard but many other members, including the Fringilla now the mage of Nilfgaard, votes against it. The future of the Continent including Aretuza is now at great risk.
