SEE’ second episode, “Message in a Bottle”, focuses on the growing-up of the two children with vision, being raised by Baba Voss, and their access to the books left by their blood father Jerlamarel.

The episode starts with Baba Voss (Jason Momoa) taking a morning stroll, while carrying his two infants, in the damp, misty forest and suddenly coming face-to-face with a fearsome bear. Being blind so he seems to lose advantages to the bear then Jerlamarel suddenly appears to help kill the bear with an arrow.


Baba Voss then has a conversation with  Jerlamarel, who asks him to 
name the kids Haniwa and Kofun, and gives him a container of books to be passed to the kids when they are 12 summer years.


Not far away, Gether Bax, who is always upset with Baba, hears Baba calling out Jerlamarel’s name. This encourages him to take actions to spy on Baba’s activities and deliver messages in bottles down the stream to the Queen. 






Meanwhile, Maghra isn’t happy about the fact that the kids’ possible ability to see, as well as the hidden presence of Jerlamarel’s books when her children’s 12th birthday is gonna coming, in the fear that they would leave the village someday. She has persuaded Baba to keep the books a secret to the children forever.



The old lady Paris objects the ideas of Maghra and shows the books to the children  anyway, also informing them about their true father. Upon hearing the facts, Kofun angrily storms out, and Paris sends Haniwa after him. Later the two children starts to happily read the books.


Back at the palace, Queen faces some accusations and inside objections to her caring more about Jerlamarel than the fact that the dam’s engines are breaking down and the water is rising. Queen Kane holds a public execution for the two dis-consented traitors by hoisting them in the air by chains and frying them to a glowing crisp with turbine-generated electricity which she describes to the public as her “magic”.
